Standard concrete density is 150 lbs per cubic foot wet. This weight is important for structural calculations and for determining if your subgrade can support the load.
How do I convert cubic feet to bags of concrete?
Divide your total cubic feet by the yield per bag: 0.60 cubic feet for 80lb bags, or 0.45 cubic feet for 60lb bags. Example: 15 cubic feet ÷ 0.60 = 25 bags of 80lb concrete. Always round up and add 10% for waste — so 25 bags becomes 28 bags to ensure you don't run short.
